Briar is a very fit and healthy neutered male 11 year old Shetland Sheepdog.

Registered with the VCA, he has his Companion Dog title and has passed Tracking Test 1.

Briar may have further potential in the area of Rally O.

Briar was a member of the Werribee Obedience Dog Club and Northern Obedience Dog Club for many years with his owner Doreen.

Unfortunately due to her own ill health, Doreen is now looking for a good home for her beloved Briar.

If you think you can give Briar a good home, please call

Janette on 0419 899 119 or Bethia on

Happy Endings

We are happy to say that Prince and Bella have now been placed with a family who have a 20 year and 9 year old son and they appear to be settling in well. They are learning to adapt to living with a cat for the first time and hopefully it will all work out well with all becoming good friends as is usually the case. Good to know that they will now have a great family life, being able to come indoors and be part of their new family and hopefully they will enjoy many more years of a long and happy life.

Alf came top us with all of his hair shaved off because the owners thought it better than having to groom him. They also unfortunately felt it acceptable to let him out to go for a walk by himself around the district - a very big NO NO. He eventually became very reluctant to come when called and was quite disobedient. His name back then was Ralph but the new owner preferred Alf and as it was close to his old name he did not notice the difference. With a little training and walks on a lead over a few months Alf was a thorough gentleman and lost all of his former bad habits.

Sparky came to us in a terrible condition and his story was that he was being beaten up by their larger dog. He had a nasty puncture wound in his back leg and a skin condition caused by so much stress. He became a happy much loved member of a new family.

Shep came to us via a lady who was visiting South Australia and heard through a friend that there was a Sheltie looking for a new owner as her current owner had lost his wife and felt unable to care for him as well as he wanted to because of his age. This lady knew that we had a Rescue organisation back in Melbourne so brought him back with her. He was a delightful little tri colour but unfortunately could not be placed with children as he was very frightened by children previously and still feared them to the point of hiding whenever one came into his home. He was placed with a two ladies who had taken 2 shelties from us previously but as they had lost one they needed a companion for their remaining one which was fretting badly. All worked out beautifully and they are both very happy in each others company.

Jet was one of our saddest cases. He was rescued from a Puppy Farm where he had spent most of his life locked away in a shed and was used for breeding purposes with no care or affection shown to him over his many years with them. All we could find out was that he had been purchased in NSW and was between 7 & 10 years old. He was so depressed that he would stand in the one position and not move until prompted to do so. His spirit was completely broken. It took many months before his wonderful temperament came through but only after much love and attention. He had been clipped and had a bad skin condition which we eventually cured and he left us a different dog to the one that came to us.

Connor was collected by us from a shelter as his owner was unable to keep him. He was a small gentle Blue Merle M/N 6 years old. He was quite thin and his coat was badly neglected. After being with us for a while he left us in beautiful condition and was placed with "Sue" He was her 6th Rescue dog and spent his remaining years much loved.
